MRS. L. F. DAVIS OF WINTERSET DIES

Resident Here for Past 21 Years Was 78 Years of Age

Mrs. L. F. Davis of Winterset died Friday, Jan. 13, at the Memorial hospital here after an illness of two weeks. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Davis was the wife of the Rev. L. F. Davis, who served as pastor of the Winterset Christian church for an extended period more than 40 years ago. After his retirement they returned to Winterset and this community had been their home the past 21 years.

Mrs. Davis was a native of Illinois, but had lived in Iowa more than 50 years. In addition to Winterset, they had lived in Hampton, West Liberty, Rock Rapids, and Des Moines. Her husband was pastor of the Mondamin Christian church in Des Moines from 1915 to 1922.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Winterset Christian church.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Goldman of St. Augustine, Fla.; a son, Herschel B. Davis of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Winterset Christian church, conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile, pastor. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
