MRS. MARY PALMER DIES AT 89 YEARS

Mrs. Mary J. Palmer, long-time resident of Madison county, died Friday, Nov. 15, at a Winterset nursing home. She was 89 years of age.

Mrs. Palmer was the former Mary Janette Raitt, daughter of Robert and Mary Kainain Raitt. She was born near Clarinda, in Page county, on Aug. 4, 1874, but had lived practically all her life in Madison County.

She was married in 1894 to Ellsworth Palmer, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Rebekah lodge.

Mrs. Palmer leaves one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Wright of Winterset. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Floyd and Herm Palmer.

Also surviving are four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. John Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
