Life-Long Resident of This County Was 91 Years Of Age
Emory E. Orris of Winterset, a resident of Madison county for all his 91 years, died Saturday, June 3, at Memorial hospital here.
Mr. Orris was a member of a well-known Madison county family. He was born here Dec. 22, 1869, a son of Benjamin and Jane Walker Orris. He was engaged in livestock buying during many years of his active life.
He was married Aug. 23 to Rose L. Elsbury. Her death occurred in 1955.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Niblo of Dubuque and Mrs. Clark Smith of Santa Cruz, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
