Services for Claude W. Orr, 78, rural Winterset, who died May 19 at his residence, were held Monday, May 22, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born in Winterset on March 29, 1911, he was the son of Harry and Mable Wilson Orr. He was married to Flora Powell on March 21, 1939 at Des Moines.
A lifetime resident of Madison County, he was engaged in farming.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James of Winterset; a daughter, Betty Smith and husband Charles of Winterset; a sister Kathryn Benoit of Winterset; two grandsons, two step-granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a half sister.
