September 27, 1973Velma Olson Dies at 89
Mrs. Velma B. Olson of rural Earlham, a life-time resident of Madison County, died Saturday, September 15 at Villa West Care Center here. She was 89 years of age.
Mrs. Olson was born in this county August 2, 1884, a daughter of William and Maria Duff Bowlsby. She was married June 6, 1906 to Harry L. Olson. His death occurred in 1946.
She was a member of the Early Chapel Christian Church.
Mrs. Olson is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harold Beaman of Earlham; two sons, Lawrence E. Olson of Williamstown, Mass., and Edwin H. Olson of Liverpool, Pa.; in addition to 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Marie Smith in 1951.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Worthington Church, conducted by the Rev. Don Harbor. Burial was made in the Worthington Cemetery.
