DEATH HALTS CHRISTMAS TRIP

Mrs. Clarence Olson, Rapid City, Was Enroute to Winterset

Mrs. Clarence Olson, formerly of Winterset, died Christmas Day, Dec. 25 at Chamberlain, S. Dak. She had become ill while enroute from her home in Rapid City, S. Dak., to Winterset, where she had planned to spend Christmas with ther mother, Mrs. Cora Brown and other relatives.

Mrs. Olson was 62 years of age at her death. She was the former Veda May Allen, daughter of Melvin and Cora Husted Allen. She was born in Madison county July 17, 1898. Her early life was spent in this community.

She was married to Clarence Olson in June, 1933, at International Falls, Minn.

She was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving are her husband, of Rapid City; a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Chandler of Marengo; her mother, Mrs. Cora Brown of Winterset; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Wilma Hendricks of Winterset; and four brothers, Ray of Winterset; Bernard of Des Moines; Kenneth of Earlham and Sterling Allen of Des Moines.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Anderson-Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
