L. E. OLSON DIED HERE SATURDAY

Former Resident of Zion Had Been Living in Winterset For Past Year

L. E. Olson, a resident of Winterset the past year, died at his home here Saturday, Feb. 17. He was 73 years of age.

Mr. Olson was the former resident of the Zion community for many years. He was born in Adams county on July 1, 1888, a son of Lars and Sarah Coons Olson. He farmed for many years and in recent years had been a real estate broker.

He was a member of the Zion Congregational church and Grand burg. (?)

He was married at Creston on Feb. 14, 1911 to Jennie L. Jennings. They had observed their fifty-first wedding anniversary on Valentine's day.

In addition to his wife; he leaves three sons, Lowell L. Olson of Winterset, Norris G. Olson of Portland, Ors., and L. Edwin Olson Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Ross of Lenox and Mrs. Anna Madison of Washington. D. C.; and two brothers, Clarence Olson of Greenfield and Fred Olson of Corning.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday afternoon, from the Zion Congregational church, in charge of the Rev. Penn S. Chambers. Burial was made in the Greenfield cemetery, with graveside rites by the Odd Fellows lodge of Macksburg.
