Services for Myrtle Mildred Oglesbee, 83, Winterset, who died Sept. 16 at her residence, were held Monday, Sept. 19, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the King Cemetery in rural Madison County.
Born in Madison County on Oct. 22, 1904, she was the daughter of Edward and Jettie Leanheart Hess. She was married to Jerry Leo Oglesbee, who died Dec. 2, 1925. She later married Harry Garrett Oglesbee, who died Feb. 21, 1967.
A housekeeper, she lived in Winterset the past two and a half months, coming from rural Winterset. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Elm Grove.
Survivors include sons, Morris of Indianola, and Gerald and Harry Jr., both of Broomfield, Colo.; daughters, Jerrie Lorraine England of Earlham and Thelma Gray of St. Charles; a brother, Arnold Hess of Murray; a sister, Cleta Oglesbee of Winterset; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
