Carl Oglesbee, 71, of Mt. Etna died Sept. 29, 2002 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Carl United Methodist Church with Pastor Fred Bryson officiating. Burial will be at Carl Cemetery with military rites performed by American Legion Ourcq Post 117 of Corning. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, Oct. 2) from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 7-8 p.m.
Carl Oglesbee was born March 26, 1931 to Flavy Reese and Alice Irene (McKeever) Oglesbee of Peru. Of Jan. 28, 1950 he married Viola Coreen Bond in Des Moines. Carl had worked for the Natural Gas Pipeline Company for 35 years. He was a station attendant at the Mt. Etna Booster Station from 1969 until 1985, then transferred to the pipeline crew at Emerson. A resident of Mt. Etna since 1968, he was a member of the Carl United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a grandson.
He is survived by two daughters, Carla Dodd (husband Pat) of Enid, Okla., and Teresa Miller (husband Craig) of Lineville; two sons, Dwight Oglesbee (wife Kathy) of Corning and Blaine Oglesbee of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Carl United Methodist Church.
Funeral arrangements were hendled by Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service in Corning.
