Word has been received here of the death of James Nicholson, former Winterset and Madison county resident, at his home in Hedrick, Oklahoma, Sunday night, July 21st. Mr. Nicholson was 96 years of age, and funeral services and burial were held in Hedrick.
Mr. Nicholson formerly lived on a farm ten miles north of Winterset and at one time served as the DeSoto postmaster. He also owned a livery business in Winterset, but left here thirty years ago for Hedrick, where he has since resided. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Vere Hylton, with whom he made his home. He was an uncle of Mrs. J. W. Bunker and Claude and Lyle Nicholson of Winterset.
