Died. Jacob J. Trindle was born February 25, 1820 and died January 21, 1901, in Van Meter, Iowa. The funeral was preached by Rev. Curtin, assisted by Rev. Elliot, of the U. B. church. Mr. Trindle was a loyal citizen, friendly and sociable, esteemed…unreadable…remained a worthy member until the end; having lived a life of usefulness for a full measure of years, he was peacefully removed to a happier realm.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges, and the burial was conducted by these orders, wearing their respective regalia. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved wife and two boys, Abner C., and Ernest E., both young men. The remains were laid to rest in Union Chapel cemetery.
