Asa Darnall, of Baldwin City, Kan., died January 30. He was a brother of G. T. Darnall, and was an early settler in Madison county, coming in 1853, living on the place in Lincoln township afterward owned by Isaac Ruby, then by James Smith. He went to Kansas in the late 50's, and was there through the "Border Ruffian" times, being only a few miles from Laurence, when the noted raid occurred.
