Mrs. Maggie M. Speer passed away on January 3, 1973, at a hospital in Pittsburg, Pa., at the age of 92 years, following a brief illness. She was born November 4, 1880 in Jackson township, Madison County, Iowa, the daughter of John W. and Floretta A. Eppard Weaver.
Mrs. Speer was united in marriage to Fred Straub of Denver, Colorado. They were the parents of two daughters. Following her husband's death, she returned to Madison County where she was married to Will Speer.
Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Robert Buckley (Ruth Ellen) of Upper St. Clair, Pa., four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Sadie E. Smith of Winterset. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daugher, 8 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 6th from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with burial in the Winterset Cemetery.
