MRS. IDA NELSON DIED ON MONDAY

Long-Time Resident of This County Dies in Des Moines

Mrs. Alfred Nelson, a long-time resident of Madison county, died Monday, Oct. 8, at a Des Moines hospital. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Nelson was the former Ida Karoline Carlson, daughter of Julius and Meta Pederson Carlson. She was born in Audubon county, but had lived in Madison county since 1918, with the exception of four years in Des Moines.

She was married Feb. 23, 1917, at Elkhorn to Alfred Nelson who survives her. She was a member of the Lutheran church at Elkhorn.

In addition to her husband, she leaves four daughters, Mrs. Berthel Shank of Des Moines, Mrs. Wayne Smith of Truro, Mrs. James Woodward of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Glenn Ballard of Imperial Beach, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Carl Carlson of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Dortha Fulsang of Atlantic.

Funeral services will be held this Friday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Richard Lehmann, pastor of the St. Paul Lutheran church of Winterset. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
