Susan L. Wachter, 54, of Winterset, died Nov. 23, 1994 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were Nov. 26, 1994 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Frank Palmer officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 17, 1940 in Des Moines to Curtis J. and Astrid (Andersen) VanNordstrand. She married Charles A. Wachter in April of 1964 in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Danish Sisterhood. She had been a resident of Winterset since 1973.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one stepson.

Surviving relatives include her husband; one son, Curtis J. Baker of Las Vegas, Nev.; three stepsons, Davis Wachter of Virginia Beach, Va., Charles F. Wachter of Buena Park, Calif., and Jeff Wachter of Redding, Calif.; one stepdaughter Kathy Adkins of Norco, Calif.; one sister, Diann Weinman of Des Moines; and nine grandchildren.
