Wednesday, September 21, 1994Roscoe (Rocky) Sirdoreus, 69, of Norwalk died Sept. 13, 1994 at the Des Moines General Hospital. Funeral services were held Sept. 17, 1994 at the Martensdale Community Church. The Rev. Joel Andrus officiated with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Military graveside services were also held.
He was born in Madison County on Aug. 4, 1925 to Fred and Nora (Westerman) Sirdoreus. He married Neva M. Herrick in Earlham on August 27, 1948. He was a former police officer and Police Chief of Winterset and was most recently employed as school custodian for Norwalk Community Schools. He lived in Madison County until 1964 when he moved to Norwalk. He was a member of the Martensdale Community Church and American Legion Post 165 in Indianola. He was a veteran of W.W. II, serving in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and three sisters.
Surviving relatives include his wife; three daughters, Cathy Foster of Norwalk, Sondra Battin and husband Carey of Norwalk, Betty Pasutti and husband Paul of California; two brothers, Fred of Grinnell and Harold of Independence, Mo.; one sister, Edna Garrison of Winterset; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
