Leota Purscell, 74, of Winterset, died May 15, 1994 at her home. Funeral services will be Thurs., May 19, 1994 at 1:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Bill Branson will officiate the ceremony with burial at the Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be May 18, 1994 noon to 9 p.m. Family visitation will be noon to 3 p.m.

She was born July 6, 1919 in Newton to Al and Letty (Kennedy) Heath. She married Lonnie Purscell on August 6, 1937 in Madison County. She was a homemaker and lived in Madison County most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother; sone sister; and two grandsons.

Surviving relatives include six sons, Lorn Purscell of Shannon City, LaVern Purscell of Radcliff, Ky., Laurel Purscell of Madrid, Lenard Purscell of Winterset, Leon Purscell of Des Moines, and Lester Purscell of Earlham; four daughters, Lois Giles of Winterset, Linda Smith of Creston, LaVonne Jacobe of Osceola, and Loretta Solt of Lorimor; one brother, Clarence Heath of Newton; 40 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
