LeRoy Albert Clark, 93, died Dec. 1, 2000, of a heart ailment at Winterset Care Center North.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 6) at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

LeRoy Clark was born March 21, 1907, to Claud C. and Mary Elizabeth (Eggleston) Clark of Winterset. He married Opal Pauline Sumpter on May 25, 1929, in Winterset. A lifetime resident of Madison County, LeRoy had owned a gas station in Van Meter for many years and also had farmed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother and a sister.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Clark of Truro and Robert Clark (wife Jeannette) of Montezuma; a daughter, Sharilyn Snelson (husband Gene) of Warsaw, Mo.; five grandchildren; a granddaughter-in-law; nine great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
