Laird P. Macdonald, 79, of the 1600 block of Northwest 99th Court, Clive, died of an aneurysm Wednesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday at Dunn's Funeral Home, with burial at Winterset Cemetery in Winterset.

Mr. Macdonald was born in Duluth, Minn., and had lived in the Des Moines area most of his life. He was a retired production manager with Meredith Corp. and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of Acanthus Lodge, Des Moines Consistory, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Tux Brigade and Des Moines Club of Printing House Craftsman.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; a son, Dennis of Arlington, Va.; a brother, Kirby of Ocean Shores, Wash.; and a sister, Elizabeth Whitacker of Redmond, Wash.
