Ernest "Bill" Pearson, 84, of Winterset died of a heart ailment June 11, 2000, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 13, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Bill Pearson was born Feb. 25, 1915, in Madison County to Leonard L. and Anna Victoria (Lamb) Pearson. He married Opal L. Davis on Dec. 16, 1938, in Jump River, Wis. A Madison County resident for most of his life, he was a retired truck driver for Young's Elevator and farmhand. Bill was a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Robert "Butch" Pearson of Winterset and Joe Pearson of Des Moines; three daughters, Maxine Hamell of Van Wert, Josie Moorman of Des Moines and Mary Rychnovsky of Osceola; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
