ANNA C. SONGER, Winterset

Anna Catherine Songer, 75, of Winterset died from complications of an aortic aneurysm March 4, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at Pulaski Cemetery.

Anna Songer was born July 13, 1924, in Davis County to Frank and Alice (Campbell) Cortum. A retired cook, Anna was a resident of Winterset for the past 40 years. She also was a member of the Pulaski Alumni Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Ed Songer (wife Connie) of Patterson and Bill Songer (wife Paula) of Winterset; a brother, Leland Cortum of Norwalk; three sisters, Helen Hamburg of Williamsburg, Marion Claman of Mt. Sterling and Marilyn Cunningham of Memphis, Mo.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
