HAROLD H. SONGER, St. Charles

Harold H. Songer, 69, of St. Charles died from injuries sustained in a farming accident July 22, 2000, in Madison County.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Ochiltree Fuenral Service & Aftercare in Winterset with the Rev. Robert Barrick officiating. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.

Harold Songer was born April 19, 1931, to William and Queen (Boone) Songer of rural Logan. A 1919 graduate of Perry High School, he worked at Marquette Cement Company in Des Moines and had farmed for most of his adult life. Harold was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church, Patterson Lions Club and Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his father and a grandson.

He is survived by his wife; his mother of Winterset; a daughter, Kathy Woltman (husband Lloyd) of Quimby; three sons, Bob Songer of Hemet, Calif., Bill Songer (wife Paula) of Winterset and Ed Songer (wife Connie) of Patterson; two step-sons, Rodney Young of Waukee and Roger Young (wife Debbie) of Indianola; three sisters, Vera Mur (husband Ray) of Des Moines, Marilyn Bishop (husband Bill) of Lamar, Colo., and Shirley McMann (husband Roger) of Loveland, Colo.; three brothers, Lyle Songer (wife Barbara) of Escondido, Calif., Everett Songer (wife Ruth) of Perry and LeRoy Songer of Winterset; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
