Mary Elizabeth, second daughter of James and Rebecca Webb, was born near Noblesville, Indiana, Feb. 28th in the year 1862 and passed away at her home in Earlham October 9, 1932.

When four years of age, she came with her parents to Dallas county, Iowa, the trip being made in a covered wagon, where they resided for three years. The family then came to Madison county, Iowa, where she made her home until her marriage to J. W. Fry August 28th, 1888.

To this union were born five children: Roy, Rolland and Garry, of Earlham; Mrs. Chas. Peterson, of Peru and Marrion of Los Angeles.

When a girl she attended Fairview Church. In later years she with her husband united with the Presbyterian Church at Earlham and she remained a member until the time of her death. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Earlham for a number of years. In 1920 she had a paralytic stroke and has been an invalid since that time. She was a patient sufferer, never complaining, although at times her suffering was almost unbearable. All those who knew Mrs. Fry learned to love her. She was a faithful loving wife and mother, always thinking of the welfare of others rather than of self.

Those who mourn her going are her husband and children: Roy, Nellie, Rolland, Marion and Garry; eight grandchildren; two brothers, William Webb of Edmonds, Wash., Frank of Redfield; three sisters Rosa Stearns of Roanoke, Indiana, Isabella Peters of Fort Dodge, Dora Willis of Portland, Oregon, and a host of friends.

The patient wife is at rest; the sacrificing mother has gone home.
