John W. Jackson, 87 of Kent, died Dec. 11, 1994 at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. Funeral services are today, Wed., at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Robert L. Pickerell officiating. Burial will be in the West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox.
He was born May 19, 1907 at Gentry, Mo., to Earl and Jennie (Switzer) Jackson. He married Ferne Ambrose on May 4, 1941 in Maryville, Mo. He was a farmer and seed corn dealer. He was a member of the First Christian Church and served as usher for many years.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; one brother; and one sister.
Surviving relatives include his wife; two sons, Harold Jackson and wife Harriet of Winterset, and Gary Jackson and wife Joan of Creston; one daughter, Karen Herr and husband Pat of Ellensburg, Wash.; one daughter-in-law, Tillie Jackson of Delta, Colo.; one brother, George Jackson and wife Nellie of Osceola; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church or to the family.
