Jessie Mae Murphey of Winterset died Sunday, June 7 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 87 years old.
Born May 22, 1894 in Winterset, she was the daughter of George W. Poffinbarger and Ida Burd.
On Sept. 15, 1943, she married Russell C. Murphey in Des Moines. Mr. Murphey passed away in 1968.
She was a housewife and lifetime Winterset resident, attending Primitive Baptist Church of Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Burd Poffinbarger.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Murphey of Dexter, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 9 at Collins Funeral Home, Elder Walter Acton officiating.
Burial was at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
