Linda Murman, Palmer

Linda Grace Murman, 65, of Palmer, died March 9, 1996, at a Tucson, Ariz. hospital after a brief illness. Memorial services were held March 16 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer with the Rev. Terry Cosier officiating.

She was born Jan. 1, 1931 in rural Macksburg to Leonard and Fern (Pinckney) Lawless. She attended the Macksburg schools. She married Andrew Murman of Palmer on May 31, 1953. She received her teaching certificate from the Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls and taught in a one-room school. She earned her B.A. in 1972 and worked for the Palmer Consolidated School District. She began working for the Iowa Correctional System in 1981 until her retirement in 1993

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Mary Rose Heller and husband Mike of Hamilton, Mont., Aimee Boden and husband Chuck of Maurice, Elaine of Lawrence, Kan., and Julie Harnack and husband Ron of Remsen; a son, Michael of Hixson, Tenn.; two brothers, Jack Lawless of Albany, Ga., and Donald Lawless of Washington; and 12 grandchildren.
