Death Of W. D. SPIDLE

A Winterset resident, William David Spidle, 67, died Thursday, February 24, 1977, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He lived here two and a half years after moving from Torrance, California.

Mr. Spidle was born July 21, 1909, in Newton, Missouri, the son of James A. and Rebecca Miller Spidle. His marriage to Carmen E. Davis took place September 5, 1933, in Mercer, Missouri.

Affiliated with the Methodist faith, Mr. Spidle was a retired custodian.

Survivors include his wife, Carmen, two sons, William Duane of Alta Loma, California, Lawrence Dean of Aurora, Nebraska; a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Sharon Kae) King of Winterset; a brother, Eldon of Humeston, Iowa; two sisters, Pauline Clay of Loveland, Colorado and Ethel Clark of Elsinore, California; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services for William D. Spidle were conducted Monday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, Kenneth Helmers presiding. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
