Charles E. Evans, 81, of Runnells, died of a heart ailment March 23, 1994 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Graveside services were March 28, 1994 at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
He was born near Winterset Jan. 4, 1913 and married Nora Austin April 14, 1936. He was a retired bus driver living in Runnells for the past five years.
Surviving relatives include his wife; three sons, Dennis and wife Julie of Runnells, Charles and wife Teresa of Mesa, Ariz., and Larry and wife Arlene of West Minister, Md.; three daughters, Margaret and husband Bob Streeter of Des Moines, Sharon and husband Larry Muffler of Des Moines, and Carol and husband Joe Valdez of Denver, Colo.; one sister Hazel Elizabeth Pinckney of Macksburg; 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa or the American Heart Association.
