Fay Mountain, 81, of Macksburg, died June 30, 1997 of cancer at her residence. Funeral services will be Sat., July 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Macksburg Methodist Church. Pastor Dwayne Henrichs and Pastor Neil Platoon will officiate the services. Burial will be at the Resthaven Cemetery in Des Moines. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
She was born in West Des Moines on July 5, 1915 to Richard Edgar and Grace Inez (Blyth) Stokes. She married Marple Clark Mountain on Feb. 3, 1934 in Princeton, Mo. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Macksburg for the past 13 years, having moved there from Lorimor. She was a member of the Wayside Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Clark Mountain and wife Nancy of Macksburg, and Richard Mountain of San Francisco, Calif.; four daughters, Eunice Fay Haworth of Indianola, Tommi Orr and husband Jim of Winterset, Ellen Blyth Mountain of Winterset and Christy Lynn Hogue and husband Jim of Winterset; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Iowa State Fair, Iowa Arboretum or the Middle River Hospice.
