MORTUARY

Hannah Louise Kaufman was born February 14, 1860 in Warren county and departed this life May 30, 1932 at her home north of Winterset. She was united in marriage to Samuel Loren Kaufman on January 29, 1899. To this union were born four sons and five daughters. Her oldest son, Guy, passed away January 27, 1900, at the age of 18 years and 3 months.

Her early years were spent with her parents in Warren county. She moved to her present home November 12, 1895, where she has since resided.

Those surviving her are: her husband, S. L. Kaufman, five daughters, Mrs. Louise Scott of Arvada, Colorado; Mrs. Kathryn Johnston of St. Louis, Missouri; Mrs. Hazel Frederick of Des Moines, Jeanette and Amy at home; three sons: David Kaufman of Panora; Herschel of Adel and Robert of Decatur. Twenty grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, and a host of relatives and friends.

She leaves to her family the memory of a constant devotion to her home and family.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the home conducted by Rev. C. N. Bigelow of Des Moines. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery.

SERVICES THURSDAY – MRS. S. L. KAUFMAN

Services for Mrs. S. L. Kaufman of De Soto, who died May 30, were held June 2 at the home conducted by the Rev. C. N. Bigelow of Des Moines; burial was in the Fairview cemetery.

Mrs. Kaufman was Hannah Louise Dillard. She was born February 14, 1860 in Warren county. Her marriage to Samuel Loren Kaufman took place January 29, 1880, and the family afterward moved to the present home November 12, 1895.

Four sons and five daughters were born to them who with the husband survive: Mrs. Louise Scott of Arvada, Colorado; Mrs. Kathrryn Johnston of St. Louis, Missouri; Mrs. Hazel Frederick of Des Moines; Jeanette and Amy at home; David Kaufman of Panora; Herschel of Adel and Robert of Decatur; twenty grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two brothers. A son, Guy, died January 27, 1900 at the age of 18.
