TOMMY SPENCER Dies At 74 Years

Tommy D. Spencer, a prominent farmer in the Peru community for many years, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 74 years of age. He had retired from active farming last year.

Mr. Spencer has been a resident of Madison county for 58 years, and had lived on the same farm near Peru for 49 years.

He was born in Polk county, on Aug. 1, 1886, a son of David and Viola Johns Spencer. He was married Dec. 18, 1912, to Bradie B. Stoneman, who survives him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, Forest and Robert Spencer of Peru, and Ralph Spencer of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; and a half-brother, Cecil McKinney of Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. David Kiser. Burial will be made in the Peru cemetery.
