On Saturday evening, occurred the death of Frank Lowden at his home in Winterset after an illness of three days. Mr. Lowden had been suffering for several years from a chronic stomach trouble, which no doubt caused his death.
With the exception of one year spent in Indianola, Mr. Lowden had lived his life of 51 years in Madison county. The last year of his life he spent in Winterset, the remainder near Webster. He was a son of the late Edward Lowden and is survived by three daughters, a sister, Mrs. F. A. Bowlsby and two brothers, John and William.

November 13, 1918FRANK E. LOWDEN
Frank Edward Lowden was born in Madison county, May 10, 1867. Here he grew to manhood and on Dec. 24, 1890, he was married to Addie Garrott. To this union were born three children: Mrs. Ora Dunn of Blue Earth, Minn.; Mrs. Alma Storrs of Des Moines and Mamie, living at home. His companion died April 26, 1910, leaving the care of the children to him. Their home was on the farm in Webster township where he lived until two years ago, when he moved to Indianola and after living there a year, he moved to Winterset.
For many years, he has not been strong and his health gradually failed until a few days before his death he had a nervous breakdown and died on Saturday Nov. 2nd, his age being 51 years, 5 months and 16 days.
Many years ago, he made a profession of faith and united with the Webster Methodist church, and since has kept the faith until his death. He was a hard toiling man during the days of his strength, an upright citizen, a faithful companion and a dutiful father.
He leaves to mourn his death an aged mother, two brothers, one sister and three children, with other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were conducted from the home on Monday by Rev. Jackson Giddens, pastor of the Methodist church, after which the mortal remains were taken to the Robert cemetery, which is located on the corner of his farm, and there laid to rest.
