Death Of MRS. NOAH BENSON

Mrs. Noah Benson, a lifelong resident of Winterset and Madison county, died early Thursday morning, March 20th, 1930. Mrs. Benson had been in poor health last winter, having been ill for several months following the death of her husband. She was staying at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alf Danforth. She had been improving in health, and was able to be up most of the time. The deceased was stricken with a stroke of apoplexy, however, last Thursday, and death followed.

Laura Benson was 67 years of age, and was born October 21, 1862, in Scott township. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lorimor, who were pioneer residents of Madison county.

She was married to Noah W. Benson on December 25, 1882, and they lived on a farm in Scott township for many years. In 1895 they moved to Winterset, where they resided until last March. At that time they sold their home, at the end of Jefferson street, and moved to the Benson farm, three miles east of Winterset, on Primary No. 2. After Mr. Benson's death, Mrs. Benson moved to the home of her daughter.

Mrs. Benson was a member of the United Presbyterian church of Winterset, and Rev. W. C. Porter, pastor of that church, conducted her funeral services, held at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, Sunday morning, March 23, at 11 o'clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
