John Morrissey, Davenport

John J. Morrissey, 75, of Davenport, died at the Kahl Home for the Aged and Infirm. Services were held Saturday, Sept. 23 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial was held at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Davenport.

Mr. Morrissey had been director of the physical plant at St. Ambrose University from 1959 until retiring in 1983.

He married C. Margaret Kenny in 1934 in Winterset and was a Winterset native.

He was a member fo the church and its Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus and Davenport Moose Lodge.

Memorials may be made to the church or to St. Ambrose University.

Survivors include his wife; sons, John Jr. and the Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Morrissey, both of Davenport; Patrick, Grand Mound, Iowa; and Timothy, Ames, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Morrissey, Moline and Adorine Smith, Davenport.
