Retired School Teacher Had Lived at Winterset For 20 Years
Matie Morrison, a resident of Winterset the last 20 years, died Saturday, Feb. 23, at Madison county Memorial hospital here. She was 72 years of age.
Miss Morrison was a native of Montezuma, where she was born Nov. 7, 1890, a daughter of Charles and Lucy Klinker Morrison.
Miss Morrison was a retired school teacher. During her residence here, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a brother, G. W. Morrison of Phillipsburg, N.J.; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Chantry of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Elmer Roseland of Winterset. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Merlin Morrison of Beaverton, Oregon.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Owens, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made at Rising Sun cemetery.
