ELLA SALISBURY DIED LAST WEEK

Long-Time Resident Here Passes at 82 Years of Age

Mrs. Ella Salisbury, long-time resident of Madison county, died Wednesday, April 30, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Misner, west of Winterset. She had been ill one week, following a stroke of paralysis. She was 82 years of age.

Mrs. Salisbury, was the former Ella Cook, a daughter of John and Sarah Cook, born in Ohio June 22, 1875. She was married to Willis Salisbury January 19, 1886. They moved to Illinois that year, and later to Iowa. They were the parents of three daughters, all of whom are living.

She became a member of the Christian church in early life.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Holt of Watseka, Illinois, and Mrs. Bert Misner and Mrs. O. D. Addy, both of Winterset. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Vina Martin of Xenia, and eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Friday from Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Wilbur Watkins, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Montpelier cemetery north of Patterson.

Burial services for Mrs. Ella Salsbury, a former resident of this community, were held Friday at the Montpelier cemetery. Since the death of her husband, William Salsbury, 23 years ago, Mrs. Salsbury had made her home with her daughters Mrs. Bert Misner and Mrs. Orville Addy of Winterset.

Note: Transcribed as published, her full name was "Martha Ellen Salsbury." The "Martha" can be found in the 1930 Iowa, Madison, Union Township census and the "Ellen" from daughter Cettie's 1921 Madison County Marriage Record.
