A. D. CROW Died Here On Monday

A. D. Crow, a well-known Webster township farmer for many years, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1954, at the Peterson Nursing home in Winterset. He was 89 years of age.

Mr. Crow was a native of Washington county, Pennyslvania, where he was born Aug. 22, 1864, a son of Jacob and Isabelle Crow. In 1878 he moved with his parents to Kansas, making the trip by covered wagon. Two years later they came to Iowa, settling on a farm in Webster township.

On June 3, 1890, he was married to Jessie Hart Smith. They were parents of four children, all of whom survive. His wife died in 1933.

He was a member of the Wells Congregational church near Macksburg, and a past master of the Masonic lodge there.

Surviving are four children, Glen and Charles Crow of Macksburg and Wayne Crow and Mrs. Nellie Spera of Winterset; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie DeVault of Van Wert and Mrs. Dora Harpole of Winterset; a brother, Roy Crow of Afton; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Anderson home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Clement Loehr, former pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church. He will be assisted by the Rev. George De Fisher, present pastor of the church. Burial will be made in the Moon cemetery near Macksburg, with Masonic ritual.
