Cloyd Morey Died at 64

Cloyd A. Morey, a long-time Madison County farmer, died at Maple Lin Manor Nursing Home in Earlham on Saturday, December 29, 1973. He was 64 years of age.

Mr. Morey was born at Ellston, Iowa on January 27, 1909, the son of Francis and Belle Morey. He was married to Edna Baker on March, 26, 1943.

Mr. Morey spent his early life in Minnesota, graduating from Chokio (Minnesota) High School in 1927. He devoted most of his life to farming near Macksburg. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

He is survived by three children: Jeanette Christensen of Macksburg; Mrs. Dale (Sandy) Thompson of Winterset; and Cloyd Jr. of Earlham. Other survivors include two sisters: Lillian Ross of Graceville, Minn., and Lela Van Buren of Ortonville, Minn.; two brothers, Fred Morey of Winterset and Ralph Morey of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Morey was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and by a granddaughter, Annette Thompson.

Funerals services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 31, 1973 at the Macksburg Methodist Church, with the Rev. Willis Grant officiating.

Burial was in the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.
