Myrtle Alma Booth, 92, of Lorimor, died of congestive heart failure March 18, 1995 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were March 21 at Stroud-Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral Home in Afton. The Rev. Darold Snow officiated the services and burial was at the Lorimor Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 4, 1902 in Lorimor to James and Melinda Bertha (Simpson) Gearhart. She married Elmer Booth on Nov. 24, 1925 in Osceola. She was a long-time resident of the Lorimor area and a member of the Lorimor Christian Church. She was a homemaker and an avid quilter.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son; and three brothers.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Marilyn Stafford of Lorimor and Ardis Hulbert of Adel; one daughter-in-law, Bertha Booth of Des Moines; one brother, Orval ‘Steve’ Gearhart of West Des Moines; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several step-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Virgil Criss Flag Fund in Lorimor or the Lorimor Community Boosters.
