Charles Lloyd (Charley) Bowman, 77, of Red Oak, died March 4, 1994 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services were March 7, 1994 at the Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel in Red Oak.
He was born October 2, 1916 in Toledo, Ohio to George and Mae (Lloyd) Bowman. He married Dorothy Marie Brees in 1938. He later married Elizabeth Bennett who preceded him in death in 1983. He then married Dorothy Marie Tull Edwards. He was a farmer for many years and lived a period of time in Winterset. He was a member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge and a former longtime 4-H and Boy Scout leader.
Surviving relatives include his wife; four sons, Robert and wife Nancy of Winterset, Chuck and wife Becky of Red Oak, Merrill and wife Rose of Council Bluffs, and Richard and wife Beverly of Omaha, Nebr.; one daughter, Virginia and husband Frank Richards of Tingley; one sister, Marjorie Kirbis of Omaha, Nebr. And one brother, Robert Bowman of Seattle, Wash.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Red Oak Eagles Lodge.
