MRS. MARY FARLOW Died Here Last Friday

Mrs. Mary Farlow of Winterset, mother of a family well known in this community, died at her home here last Friday. Mrs. Farlow was the widow of Albert Farlow who died in 1934. She was 79 years of age.

Mrs. Farlow was the former Mary Lavina Teays, daughter of Nathaniel and Sarah Teays, and was born Dec. 28, 1859 in Monroe county.

She came to this county as a child and the balance of her life was spent here. She was married on April 30, 1879, and was the mother of five sons and two daughters. She was a member of the Christian church.

She is survived by four sons: Welba C. Farlow, Ralph Farlow, and Earl Farlow, all of Winterset, and Glen Farlow of Tacoma, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Greenwood of Winterset; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a brother, Ed Teays of Iowa Falls.

One son and one daughter preceded her in death. They were Fred A. Farlow who died in 1936, and Juanita Farlow, who died in 1914.

Funeral services were held from Anderson's Home for Funerals Sunday in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Coordinator's note: Her father and previous generations used "Teas" as their surname. Her brother is buried under "Teays" but she used "Teas" in her marriage documents. Also in her marriage documents was the middle name "Ellen".
