Death Wednesday Of LUCIE JONES

A native of Madison County, Lucie E. Jones, 75, died last Wednesday, January 12, 1977, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She was born in Madison County on June 11, 1901, the daughter of Banks and Electa Bertholf Alexander.

Residing in Winterset at 223 E. South Street, Mrs. Jones was married to Melvin Jones on June 1, 1948, in Ames. She was a retired nurse, affiliated with the Methodist Church of Winterset. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Farm Bureau Women.

Surviving Mrs. Jones is her husband, Melvin, a step-son, Hubert C. Jones, and one niece, Shirley Keating of Winterset. Also surviving are three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 15, at 2 p.m. from First Unitied Methodist Church of Winterset, Rev. Paul Bousfield officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
