ROBERT C. HILLS DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Former Winterset Man Was Company A Veteran In World War I

Robert C. Hills, a native of Winterset and a Company A man in World War I, died Tuesday of last week at Los Gatos, Calif., according to word received here late last week. He was 47 years of age. Death was due to a heart attack.

Mr. Hills was well known in Winterset throughout his early life, which was spent here. He attended the Winterset high school and at the outbreak of World War I enlisted in Company A, 168th Infantry regiment of the Rainbow division. He served throughout the Western front campaign, and was wounded in action.

After the war he lived for 10 years in Des Moines, before moving to California. At the time of his death he was engaged in the roofing business at San Jose, Calif.

Mr. Hills is survived by his wife and two children. He also leaves his father, L. H. Hills of Arkansas, and two sisters. Burial was made at Oakland, Calif.
