THOMAS L. MOORE DIES AT 80 YEARS

Long-Time Resident of This County Died Last Thursday

Thomas L. Moore, a Madison county resident for most of his long life, died here last Thursday at the age of 80 years.

Mr. Moore was born in Madison county Feb. 1, 1865, the son of Peter and Mahala Moore. With the exception of a few years in Missouri, all his life was spent in this county.

He was married in 1889 to Alma Orton. They were the parents of three children. The wife and mother died in 1902. In 1903 he was married to Burdette Ritter. One son was born to them. In 1927 he was married to Varetta Silcott, who survives him.

In addition to the wife, he leaves four children: Everett R. Moore of Independence, Ore., Jerrie O. Moore of Winterset, Mrs. Dulcie Carter and Mrs. Ethel Epperson of Winterset; two step-children, Mrs. Julia Gordon of Winterset and Richard Silcott of Des Moines.

Mr. Moore had united with the Methodist church at Pleasant View in 1894.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Anderson home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Pleasant View cemetery.
