Doris Tidrick Quinn, Burbank, Cal.

Doris Tidrick Quinn, of Burbank, Calif., died at her home July 27, 1997. Funeral services were held at the first United Methodist Church in Burbank.

She was born in Winterset on December 18, 1923, to Clarence (Pete) and Lorena Wilson Tidrick. She lived in Winterset until 1943 when she moved to Burbank, Calif.

Surviving relatives include one daughter, Nancy Revlin and husband Russ of Santa Barbara, Calif.; two sons, Donald Ray Tidrick of Los Angeles, Calif., Lee Tidrick of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Audrey Swoboda of Grove, Okla.; and two grandsons.

QUINN, Doris L.

Former Burbank Zonta Club president and St. Joseph Medical Center Guild volunteer, Doris L. Quinn, died Sunday in her Burbank condominium at age 73.

She had been ill with emphysema for more than two years. Quinn retired from Genio's Restuarant in Burbank in 1990, where she had worked for 34 years as a waitress, reception and eventually assistant manager. She lived in Burbank for the past 40 years. She was born Doris Loraine Tidrick In Winterset, Iowa in 1923 to a pioneer family. During World War II she left behind the covered bridges of her native Madison County and moved to Hollywood where she would soon be building bombers at Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank.

She was married three times, first to Gene P. Ray, who passed away in 1959, then to Edward C. Ripley who died in 1974, and finally to George B. Quinn, who died in 1991. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Revlin, an educator in Santa Barbara and Don Ray, an investigative journalist and author who lives in Burbank.

She leaves behind two grandsons, UCLA senior Scott Revlin and Paul Revlin. a high school senior living in Santa Barbara. She is also survived by a brother, Lee Tidrick, of Placentia, California; and a sister, Audrey Swobota, of Grove, Oklahoma. Prior to her retirement from Genio's Restaurant, Quinn was an active Zonta Club member who volunteered much of her time delivering 'meals on wheels' to local shut-ins. She was twice president of the women's management organization.

After she retired, she devoted much of her time volunteering at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 9:30am, Saturday, August 9 at the Burbank First United Methodist Church, 700 N. Glenoaks Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center Guild, the Burbank Zonta Club or the American Lung Association of L.A, County.
