Carolyn Marjorie Jamison, 81, of Winterset died Oct. 19, 2006, at Winterset Care Center South.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 23, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Carolyn Jamison was born Dec. 26, 1924, in Winterset to Eldon and Carita (Neely) Wilson. Following her high school graduation in 1942, she was involved in the World War II effort by working for the Vega Aircraft Company in Burbank, Calif. Later, she served as a teletype operator for Western Union in the cities of Des Moines, Chicago and New York, After her marriage in May of 1946 to her high school classmate, Rolland “Bill” Jamison, she served on the Registrar’s staff at Iowa State College. Later, Carolyn managed the preparation and publication of the state office records at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. She also was involved in school and community activities, including church and Girl Scouts.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Allen Jamison; a brother, Marvin Wilson; and a sister, Dawn Wilson Whinghter.
She is survived by her husband, Rolland, of Winterset; one daughter, Brenda Sue Jamison of Avondale, Ariz.; two brothers, Richard Wilson of Winterset and Arnold Wilson of Sun City, Ariz.; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
