HUGH LIGHTNER Dies At 73 Years

Hugh E. Lightner of Winterset, a well-known retired farmer, died Monday, Dec. 2, 1968, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 73 years of age.

Mr. Lightner was born at Churchville, Va., on Nov. 5, 1895, a son of Clarence and Mattie Sellers Lightner. He came to Madison county in 1920 from Benton county, and moved to Winterset 15 years ago.

He was a veteran of World War I. He had been a member of the Presbyterian church in Virginia.

Mr. Lightner was married Jan. 29, 1927, at Adel, to Goldie Algoe, who survives him. He also leaves a son, Donald H. Lightner of Creston; three grandchildren; a brother, William Lightner of Staunton, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Padgett and Mrs. Helen Kellam of Staunton and Mrs. Faye Algoe of LaPorte, Minn.

Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. this Wednesday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Traverce Harrison of Creston. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemeterey.
