THOMAS MONSON DIED ON FRIDAY

Union Township Resident Stricken Suddenly At His Home

Thomas W. Monson, a resident of Union township for the last 12 years, died suddenly at his farm home Friday evening, June 30. He was 55 years of age.

Mr. Monson was a native of Kentucky, where he was born at Carlisle on Oct. 12, 1905. He was a son of George and Lillian Thomas Monson.

He was married in Omaha on July 13, 1935, to Frances Krasovee who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Carolyn and a son William, both at home; a brother, Joe Monson of Omaha; and two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Larson of Omaha and Mrs. Alice Vincent of California.

In addition to operating the farm near Patterson, Mr. Monson was employed in Des Moines as an engineer for the Equitable Life Insurance Company.

Mr. Monson had moved to Madison county from Clarke county 12 years ago. During his residence in this community, he was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church at Winterset, taking an active part in the affairs of the parish.

Rosary services were held Sunday evening from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset and the funeral Mass Monday morning from St. Joseph's church in charge of the pastor, the V. Rev. Msgr. John W. Higgins. Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery in Omaha.
