Herbert E. Handel, a son of Mrs. Mary A. Handel of Winterset, died in Greenville, Illinois, Friday afternoon, November 27th, at the age of 50 years. Mr. Handel who is a brother of Charles Handel and Mrs. Roy DeBoer, also of Winterset, had been in poor health for some time, and it is thought that two automobile accidents, in which he was in, brought about complications causing his death.
Mr. Handel had been living in St. Louis, the past three years. He leaves his wife, his mother, brother and sister of Winterset, two brothers, James and Joe of St. Louis, and another brother, Ralph of Glendale.
Mr. Handel served in the Spanish war, and the members of the American Legion and the Masonic lodge, had charge of his services, which were held Sunday afternoon in the Christian church in Greenville, and burial was made in that city.
