Services for Al William Monroe, 67, Winterset, who died Dec. 12 at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, will be held Thursday, Dec. 15 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Military graveside rites are planned at U.B. Jefferson Cemetery.
Born at International Falls, Minn., on Dec. 12, 1916, he was the son of William and Hattie Braunt Titus. A retired truck driver, he was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion
On Dec. 8, 1943, he was married to Constance LaVaun Severns.
Survivors include a son, Leroy William Monroe of Riverside, Ill.; daughters, Colleen Monroe of Chicago, Cindy Lee Loszach of Hinsdale, Ill., and Cathleen Monroe of Milwaukee, Wis.; a half brother, Ralph Titus of Pueblo, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
